Vanessa Petoello is a Board Certified Adult Nurse Practitioner who currently holds her certification with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Stony Brook University. She practiced as a registered nurse for 11 years at Brookhaven Memorial Hospital in the Neurological Surgical Intensive Care Unit. She continued her education and obtained a Master of Science in Nursing from Stony Brook University.

Vanessa started working for Dr. Cherese M. LaPorta after completing her clinical rotation in Family Medicine. She is professional, compassionate, and empathetic, very hard working with excellent communication skills as well as attention to detail and her extremely dedication to her patients. Vanessa has a real knack for getting to the root cause of a patient’s ailments.

Vanessa is Dr. LaPorta’s CMO and assists in treating our patients that need urgent attention at Long Island Community Hospital. They work together diligently to ensure our patients receive the utmost care. They are a great team and patients feel they receive the treatment they deserve when they are under our care.

Jennifer Chouinard graduated Summa Cum Laude and earned her master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies from Touro College in 2018. She works as a full-time physician assistant specializing in internal and family medicine. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and New York Society of Physician Assistants. Her goal is to provide the utmost consideration and compassion to patients while ensuring they receive the best care.

Christina Schnyer is our practice Clinical Director. Christina has been working as a Medical Assistant since 2006. She has been a part of our practice for over 10 years and recently was promoted to Clinical Director. She is very personable and empathetic and possesses great leadership and communication skills. She is able to resolve conflicts and issues in a timely manner and goes out of her way to assist patients with extra-ordinary requests. If she doesn’t know the answer, she will take the necessary steps to ensure the patient is satisfactory. Christina focuses on clinical and administrative responsibilities by overseeing patient care and administrative operations.
